J J Salami, a musician maestro popularly known as Ojbrown is no doubt one of Nigeria’s biggest musical exports to the overseas. Born on May 5, 1992, in Edo state, specifically in the Etsako Centre local government area of OGBONA, Nigeria, his musical journey has taken him from the vibrant rhythms of his homeland to the artistic landscapes of Europe.
Just like every successful musician, Ojbrown’s humble beginning contributed immensely to the motivation he had to launch a musical career that would later shoot him beyond the shores of his motherland. His early exposure to the workforce began at the age of 10 or 12, learning carpentry and furniture-making. He simultaneously worked as a practitioner engineer, specializing in designing iron sheets for welding work.
Apparently, Music is a generic trait of Ojbrown’s lineage as it was legacy inherited from his mother, who actively participated in local music, even providing backup for a renowned musician.. His baptism into the music realm dates back to age 5 when he found himself immersed in the world of melodies, playing instruments, and singing alongside friends, despite occasional parental disapproval. His passion only deepened during his time at a Muslim school, where he not only danced but also played instruments for the community.
Post-secondary school in Fugar/Ogbona, J J SALAMI initially doubted the viability of a music career, allocating only a fraction of his time to this passion. However, in 2017, a revelation struck him – music wasn't just an art form; it was a business. Influenced by the success stories of artists like Wizkid, Davido, Tekno, and particularly inspired by Timaya's debut album, he realized the potential to make a living through music.
Apart from his musical prowess, J J SALAMI wears multiple hats as the CEO of DaddyTutti_Nation a music label, and the CEO of EIAM SERVICE CREW, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit.
