The candidate of the People Democratic Party, Governor Godwin Obaseki has emerged winner of the just-concluded Edo Governorship Election.
Obaseki won his top opponent, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 12 other candidates, to secure another term of four years in office. The newly elected governor secured 307,955 votes, while Ize-Iyamu got 223,619 votes.

However, most Nigerians believed that the victory of Obaseki is the victory of Godfatherism. Some Nigerians took to their Twitter page to congratulate and ridicule APC with the famous caption. #Edo No Be Lagos.
