Harry Kane opener was disallowed, and Kyle Walker was sent off, leaving England with ten men. Iceland failed to convert any of their opportunity only for England to snatch a late win with Raheem Sterling’s penalty.
Southgate’s side enjoyed most of the ball in the first half (76 per cent) but fall to create any reasonable chance. In the second half, England was much better but was also unable to break the defense of Iceland until Sterling scored the penalty.
